As a soldier in the People’s Army of America I am committed to creating a society free of tyranny, principled, with liberty and justice for the world.
Given that . . .
Our foreign policy has resulted in the needless deaths of millions. The people of the world cannot be free under the thumb of American oppression.
In the name of defending our country, our troops have been over-deployed in the “Global War On Terror,” which has perpetuated more “terrorism” than it has prevented.
The “Global War on Terror,” declared on false pretense, is sapping the country of much needed resources and exacerbating our economic problems including the disparity between rich and poor in America.
The government that should be of the people, by the people, and for the people, has become of the bureaucrats, by the USA PATRIOT Act, and for the corporate interests.
Therefore . . .
I pledge to put my body on the line and risk arrest in nonviolent direct action when called upon in order to challenge the oppression of our government and bring an end to the occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan.
Sign the pledge and join the army by sending your name or an alias, zip code, and phone number to paa@hushmail.com. Your information will be added to the rolls of the People’s Army of America, which will be maintained off-line. As soon as your information is added, your email will be deleted. While anonymity is not important for some, plausible deniability may be important for others. We don’t want your email address or mailing address, just a way to contact you when the time comes for action. Check the blog on a regular basis for action updates and national calls to action.
Charter of the People's Army of America
1. The PAA is an all-volunteer force. Soldiers enlisted in the PAA have taken a pledge and are expected to honor it. Soldiers are only asked to participate in activities commensurate with that pledge. If at any time a soldier is asked to do something in the name of the PAA that is violent, or does not challenge government oppression or contribute to stopping the war, than it is their duty to disobey for the sake of the integrity of the PAA.
2. The PAA website serves as a command center, a forum, and a think tank. The actions necessary to make this cause a success come from the soldiers. It is the duty of soldiers to contribute to the guidance of the PAA with strategy and ideas. You can do this by posting your thoughts as comments on this blog, or by emailing paa@hushmail.com.
3. The integrity of the PAA is contingent upon the effectiveness of its actions. The time for protests, demonstrations, waving signs, chanting, and begging for change is over. Everything the PAA does is a direct action that limits the ability of the government to oppress, occupy, or wage wars of aggression.
4. The PAA has no public leadership. The PAA consists of independent autonomous cells. If you know other soldiers in your area, get together to formulate and plan actions. You must do so in a manner that respects the integrity and OPSEC (Operational Security) of the PAA and be wary of infiltration. There will be no discussion on the blog of specifics for planned or proposed actions. Soldiers in the PAA are encouraged to promote the organization by any means available to you, but must exercise caution in doing so.
5. When actions are decided on, soldiers in the appropriate area are contacted until enough are confirmed as able to participate. Depending on the action, you may be told more than a time and place. Soldiers may be called upon to participate in a training session when necessary for a specific action.
6. Unlike any other army on the planet, the PAA actually encourages deserters. If at any time you should change your mind and decide that you are unwilling to honor your pledge, send an email to paa@hushmail.com and you will be dropped from the rolls. Of course, if you should ever have a change in phone number or zip code, send your updated info to paa@hushmail.com.
7. All information on this website, including the pledge, this charter, and the PAA logo are public domain to be reproduced and distributed as you see fit.
